I'm in a tasting group that likes to compare our rankings. Kinda fun to see patterns and differences in opinion... I'm the one that ranked DDG on the lower end. Anna is 9/2015 'foudre', Aaron is b3, Tilquin 3/2012 was fantastic thanks runlikealope

Got some pucker in over the weekend. Pn3,4, and the fantasias were my favorites. The fantasias tasted almost identical even though they’re 2 years apart. Just peachy goodness

Little two man tasting for the WWE HOF. Rare was a delight. No heat but maximum wood. 17 Prop was fun. Banana Foster nose. Huge cinnamon flavor. 16 Prop was BBQ SAUCE. Gross. Fencerow was perfectly balanced jam and tart berry. Nice start with funky Brett Lamplighter.

This was fun... all pretty equally enjoyable for their own characters, which speaks highly of b7. Cuvee was most of our favorite, but one picked Clover as his favorite.

Wrestlemania share. Ridiculous. So many pastry stouts. Beautiful fruited sours. Pinot SdF highlight. Greatness over and over.

Had a few 3f bottles saturday night, unfortunately couldn't track down Hommage, OGV, Lente, Zomer, Winter but to be honest I dont think we could have had much more lambic considering it was 6 people. Doesjel was my favorite, Framboos 2014 was completely flat, A&T was a big highlight.

Not pictured is a Black Albert on Steroids we split which was pretty terrible for someone who doesn't like hard liquor

2008 - 2018 KBS vertical with a new bottling of CBS thrown in for good measure. Could have done the same tasting but only with every 3 years and it would have been just as enlightening.

Fuller notes in the cellaring thread, but bascially 11/12 were very impressive and a serious downturn for 13/14/15. 16/17/18 were back on track and 08 was better than 09/10.

From left to right: 1998 50th, OGV 2002-2008, 2010, 2012, 2014. There are two 375ml of 2005 with different labels, and 750ml and 375ml bottles of 2008. The 2007 St. Valentijn synthetic cork held up well, but the 2006 synthetic cork did not.

2003 was the consensus favorite. Super musty horse blanket and complex funk and yet somehow had the bright citrus acidity more reminiscent of younger vintages.

Wow...how was the '98 doing?

Doing well. I had one about a year ago at Akkurat and I'd say this bottle was in similar shape. I don't get a ton of menthol like some other people tend to suggest, and it held its own within this tasting - still probably in the top half.

Drank some beers with some friends this weekend. LPG, 50N, and Lord Jim were the highlights.

Opened some bottles with friends for a birthday share last night. Some highlights

Had a great time on Caspian lake in Greensboro vt.

Of all of these beers my favorite was a can of what is enlightenment. Flora pear and flora kiwi cherries raspberries were highlights, but there was a lot of great beer.

Had some great beers at hf too onsite: Ann 2018 (great) Aaron b1 (my precious) elab 5 (still great) flora b5 (amazing)

We recently did a tasting of Ciders/Poiré/Meads with a couple of friends (Marc mathieumg). It was a great experience. We weren't able to open all the bottles we were expecting because at a certain point, it was way too much apples.

The Cydromel from Julien Thurel was really really good. It is a 50%/50% mix between cider and mead aged in wood barrel. Awesome!
Meinklang Foam Cider was also a great discovery. Really wild!
