Just curious, any reason why you couldn't contact 3F directly to get all the bottling dates and formats as they go along?

We could, and we've been offered a spreadsheet before, but it's really Armand and Michael who keep track of that and neither are really active online, so it's just easier to get them as they trickle in.

Was at a digital media conference yesterday listening to a talk about top level domains.

"we have a running joke about no quality sites being on .info".

Did you tell them to learn more at Lambic.Info?

nah. They were right tbh.

A few months ago, 3 Fonteinen gave us some info on their recent (end 2015) geuze bottlings as it pertains to the percentage of 3 Fonteinen brewed lambic in the blends. We've gone ahead and updated the bottle log as this is info that the brewery hopes to share with us more frequently going forward as their system is now fully operational. We'll continue to keep the log updated as new blends are bottled.

Are these the first OG bottlings with 3F brewed lambic since the incident? I had heard they started back with some 2014 batches, though I don't remember where I got that (lambic.)info from.

Just for clarity's sake, though, if there are previous bottlings that have 3F-brewed liquid in the mix, I'd suggest stating so somehow. It's awesome that 3F can confirm percentages but it reads like those are exclusive in that fact. If they are the only ones... then ignore my stupid comment!

Also, just a general thank you for this site.

They started adding small amounts of 3F brewed lambic around late 2013, but they never shared the percentage in each blend until now. There's no way to tell unless they actually tell us, and they don't plan on putting that type of information the label either so we'll just take whatever info we get when we get it and update it. The end goal is 100% 3F brewed lambic all the time, though. For obvious reasons, they're not sharing the proportion of 1, 2, and 3 year old lambic in the blend.

The birthday bottle conversation in the Lambic thread got me curious. So I looked at 11/28 bottle dates on my favorite site, and lo and behold: the only listing for 2006 Oude Kriek was 11/28. I have a 2006 Oude Kriek. Birthday Bottle achieved!

Not so fast.

After the birthday bottle explosion, I am happy have a summer birth and not have to worry about hunting a bottle. Because I totally would.

Seeing as you're now going to inevitably feel sad whenever you end up drinking that '06, I'll help you out and drink it for you. PM me for address...

For real though I have a 2006 Schaerbeekse that I'm going to drink for my own birthday in a couple of weeks (not a birthday bottling of course, just something I want to drink).

Anyone ever heard of a Cantillon without a cork. One of the members of a terrible FB group I'm in just posted his buddy bought one. Kriek Bio 750ml 2015 label.

I had never heard of such sorcery. No dent on the crown to suggest a recap.

Saw that thread on FB and would have to agree with the rest of the folks. Probably just a misfire on the packaging line that made it all the way through distro.

I have a bottle of Armand & Gaston that's bottled on "12/10/2015." Don't see that listed in the Lambic.info bottle log, unless "10/21" is a typo for "10/12."

Pic? Our bottle log came straight from a spreadsheet from 3F that I copy/pasted. There's a 10/21/15 bottle of A/G as well as a bottling from 10/21 that contains only 30% 3F lambic

I don't have a photobucket account or other fast way to upload a pic, if you PM me your E-mail address I could E-mail one from my phone.

So I have a bottle of Vigneronne with a 2001 cork but no bottling date on the label (pics). It does say L 7/02 on the back, however I know sometimes that can represent "lambic" (like in the case of LH12) but it could also be the brewing season. I highly doubt the 7/02 has anything to do with the date since it's a Euro label and they swap the month/day and there would be a 0 before the 7. Not sure what to make of it -- I just assumed it was a 2001 bottling but a couple people have been saying that it's possible they just used left over corks. Should I just contact Cantillon directly for info?

Some of the earliest bottling dates stamped on the back of labels date from right around 2001/2002. What you're looking at the L7/02 is the lot number which callmemickey has more or less decoded. I see no reason to not think it's a bottle from 2001. Gold cap and foil match the time frame perfectly.

ETA: This would also be a new addition for the bottle log. Can we use the pics?

Absolutely. I can take better ones if you need.

Some front or back labels will indicate a lot/year number i.e. "L 1.99" or "L 1/06" or something like that. The years will occasionally be wrong when they have extra labels from a previous batch (or won't match the cork if they had leftover corks from a previous batch)--but typically won't me too far off.

The first number indicates the variety and bottle size. Some that I know of:
1 = 750 gueuze
2 = 375 gueuze
3 = 750 kriek
4 = 375 kriek
5 = 750 gambrinus
6 = 375 gambrinus
7 = 750 vigneronne
8 = 375 vigneronne
10= iris (both 750 and 375?)
11 = 750 st lam
12 = 750 fou foune
13 = lou pepe
14 = 375 st lam

Gotcha. So looks like it very well could be an '02 with a leftover cork? Or maybe it was bottled in '01 and labeled for release in '02...

I see a photo of an '02 cork on Untappd for that year but no back labels.
