Well done bfg75 ! Thanks and great trade my friend!

Just got ninja'd by sleuthdog . No idea this was coming, get home, and this is laying on my doorstep.

My internal dialogue while opening this box: "Why'd you...? You didn't have to do this. I don't...Oh! Zombie Dust! I ******' love Zombie Dust. gimmegimmegimme! Oh ****. Blue label? ************---... and, is that..Beheamoth? Whoa. Talk about a mind reader? Never had this beer...until now!"

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Wanna crack into some fresh Zombie right away but have work later. It will have to wait for a few hours!

Thanks so much, sleuthdog!

Cheers!
I demand thoughts on Prop.

I was slightly worried when I didn't hear back from you after the box arrived at your house but looks like everything went okay. Enjoy!

Sorry about that- I was working when the box showed up. Really excited by everything you included. Thanks again!

Just thought I'd drop in to say your response to the 2010 Mondavi Reserve is very underrated.

I got an '03 in a silent auction years and years ago. I didn't know what it was, but it was a benefit auction, so I bid on it and some other stuff for ***** and giggles. I think I ended up paying like $20 for it in the end, and it promptly went into a cupboard in my kitchen and was forgotten about for a few years. I re-discovered it in like 2010, and took it to a party. It had a nose like the kind of cruft you might find in the corner of an old basement, but it was thick on the tongue and it tasted like dates boiled in brown sugar. My pants got tighter, I got drunker, and it was awesome. 97 pts.

As lurchingbeast did a few days ago, Jake decided to include a Parabola to show the wealth of beers that Chicago has to provide. I laughed, I cried, I came. All amazing beers that will be gratefully enjoyed in the week(s) to come. Thank you Jake!

I saw that he had the same idea and now I'm mad my box didn't get there earlier. Enjoy! The Alley Time is brand new in cans and (I thought) surprisingly good if you like cat pee flavors. In a good way.

So this tallpaul07 guy ninja boxes me and this shows up late last week.

The growler is (was) Pinko 23 from Flat 12 and it was awesome. All other beers are major wants and will be consumed with impunity.

Then without warning another box shows up last night. Sure enough Paul has sent me another unsolicited box. What in the literal ****.

As I was opening the box I was all "oh sweet, Hopslam. Wait, there's something else...
omg-owl.gif

At this point we're just sending boxes back and forth trying to porchfuck one another into oblivion. Apparently outside of California, the weather ain't so good so I'll be waiting to drop the hammer on this ******.

Also received an awesome box from bugdoc yesterday as well. So excited to finally try some SARA.

So much win in this post that I busted out laughing. Thank you for making my day brighter.

I felt it was a lot better before they went to a new brewing system. Since then the beer has gotten darker, suggesting a recipe change. That and the effort to get it have made me stop chasing it.
What system change? They have used the same 7bbl workhorse as far as I can remember, and it's a pretty simple recipe. Citra/Amarillo/magic, I don't think that changed either. Are you sure you aren't talking about the old winter/5th anny wrigley trick?

For some reason I thought it was from a 5bbl to a 15bbl system. I guess I don't know the size of their system, but this was around Dec 2010. I noticed the color of the beer change and commented on it on BA. I think Eric directly responded to a post I made and mentioned that their system changed.

The ingredients and boil time alone aren't the recipe -- the weight of additional fluid changes how yeast performs, etc.
How far back have you been drinking Citra? Have you noticed a color change? I don't know anything about recent batches, but that was a pretty big indicator for the guys I drink with.

I don't know what these words mean.

But our palates are probably just different. I tried Noble Citra Showers the other day and didn't find it as Hill Farmstead-like as you did. It was pretty grassy. Still good, but I don't think our palates line up perfectly.

That probably true. And I was speaking relative to the 8.2.11 first bottles citra release so you are probably correct if we are talking back in them 2010, heady topper in bottles days
