just chartered a beer bus from the east coast...

we'll get there around next February

There was a bachelor party bus at de garde two weekends ago when I was there.

I've attended every degardebrewing anniversary event, and I tried to plan for this. After it became apparent there'd be no ticketed party this year, my friends and I decided rent the same house we've rented 10 times before in Arch Cape. I thought there'd be some unannounced festivities at the end of April or in early May. I actually suggested the last weekend in April, but other schedules conflicted and we decided on the the 21st-23rd. I knew it was a bit early, but that's how it worked out. I'm not going to make a trip down there again this weekend, but wish I was. Congrats Trevor and Linsey.

I'm sorry man. I wish we could have you here too. This all just reached the point of being not good for most, and we took a silent route of a low key weekend. It isn't great for a lot of y'all, and that's known. I think we are all just so far over the lines and ticking scene that we had to change things. It's a ****** compromise, but I'd rather have a few loved folks not be here than have the whole thing lessened by trying to focus on immediate sales or what's going to fuel hype and hysteria. We are in fact ****** business people though.

LOL

I thought I had missed out on some enormous dG news when I saw how many pages were ahead of me. Little did I know how many laughs were in store!

Too good to be true.

Would love to see this get back to dG talk now though.........

On that note....
Ok, I will be in Portland in August. I plan to pick one day to convince my wife to go to the coast, check out Astoria, etc. I am trying to come up with an itinerary where I can have a killer experience at DG. I thought of going in the morning on a Thursday to Astoria, then cruise South and head to Tillamook at say, 1pm. We can do the cheese tour and then head to DG for tastings....and maybe pick up bottles?

Anything sound bad here? What are the chances bottles will be available? Anything else you would suggest checking out along that route? If it would please my 8/10 year old boys and wife, that would help. Cheers!

Rent a beach house in Netarts or Oceanside for the night and take your time... You'll get a beach house for less than a hotel room in Portland and have plenty of time to spend time in Astoria, explore the coast, and not feel rushed at de Garde.

FYI no kid's at de Garde. Although I have seen kids posted up on the lawn. Paging harrymel...

The main cheese factory is closed for new construction fyi. I think they only have a small out building providing samples currently.

I concur.
Or Cannon Beach. Fires on beach at sunset with fresh beer is best. Then short walk home when you put your fire out properly.

I would definitely suggest Cannon Beach for a longer trip but it's a bit out of the way. Netarts and Oceanside are beautiful, only 15-30 away, and way cheaper. Neither have any amenities like Cannon Beach, which is a legit touristy beach town but I like it better that way :D

Oh and a side question so we can keep to discussion about de Garde....

Any interest in a faux West Coast TB Anniversary at DG this summer? Rent a house like the old parties but instead of being butts to nuts and waiting in line we could just go crazy on the bottle list and bring a few bottles to share.

Burritos and lactic farts for everyone!

Is September a viable option?
