How’s the new taproom?

It's really nice. Lots of space w/ mostly high top tables, small 4 seat bar, roll-up doors, patio that will be nice in the summer (esp. to breathe in some of that fine TillaFunk air), and TWO whole bathrooms. It's unlikely to make anyone miss the old spot.

I’ll definitely miss the last spot but I’m old & sentimental.

I am assuming the new tap room still does not allow minors, correct? Would make it way easier to convince my wife to head out there on a weekend....

Correct. Same as the old place. Though apparently dogs will be allowed on the patio.

Until they have food on site they can't have kids there. Crazy how different Oregon and Washington liquor laws are. And crazy that Upright gets around that law with the coffee shop on the main floor of the building they're in.

Yeah, that was what I thought. Was hoping it was going to be an Upright situation where for whatever reason minors are allowed there.

That's the reason? I always thought it was because they call themselves a "tasting room" or something like that.

I am also not complaining.

Now that I think about it, Ale Apotecary doesn’t have food but kids are welcome there. Same with Good Life. Who the hell knows.

With that said, it doesn’t bother me in the slightest that de Garde is 21+.

To turn this back to de Garde - is anyone else looking forward to going into Pelican, ordering an over-priced burger to go, and telling them you're drinking beer across the street at de Garde?!?

I'm looking forward to the Fat Dog slice special. Between that and dG draft prices, that's a day of fun for way less money than should be legal.
