So about a month ago I washed out my keg sanitize it and put it away for storage I pulled it out today I was going to let the kids do some root beer since my o rings are getting ready to go bad I'm going to need to replace them anyways and is smells of vinegar help

What did you use to clean it? I give mine a nice soak with oxyclean, rinse well and then fill half way with starsan solution, purge the oxygen and store. It works really well for me and is ready to go when my next beer is done fermenting.

Oxi and starsan only thing I did different was dump starsan and then purged

Hmm, I've never had a problem with a smell like that so I'm not sure. I'd say just break everything down and wash it well with oxyclean again to see if you can get rid of the smell. I'd be a little nervous to fill it with beer again if you can't get the smell to go away. Maybe some other will chime in that have had similar issues.

Don't forget to pull the dipstick line out. Last time I pulled mine I found hop material stuck in one end after a batch.
