Odd smell when transferring to secondary

So I had a batch of NB's Sinistral Warrior extract kit in the primary for almost four weeks and finally got around to transferring it.

I opened the lid yesterday and took a whiff it gave me a burning in the nose like when you eat a bunch of wasabi. Is that a bad thing and what does it mean?

I followed the standard extract kit instructions and my usual sanitizing with StarSan. I used Nottingham yeast for no particular reason instead of the recommended American ale yeast.

CO2 will do that to you. Next time don't inhale. Nothing else is wrong, you just got a whiff of co2. Many have almost fainted when opening up their fermentation chambers.
