Octoberfest with Northern Brewer hops?

Making an ocfest this weekend, and dang, no hallertauer.

I love Northern Brewer hops and I've got a pound of them. Anyone ever use these in an octoberfest? I really like that minty brightness that NB lends a California Common. Think that would ruin an octoberfest or be good?

I had to go back and look through some of my old Oktoberfest recipes, because it sure seems like I used them for bittering in one about 2007 or so. I know I didn't use them for later additions, though.

Sure enough, I did use NB for bittering, with one addition of tettnanger at 30 minutes. I don't remember having any flavor impact, though, to speak of.

Late start on my Oktoberfest. Going to bitter with NB also...have alot to use up. also formulating recipe from stuff on hand. how does this grain bill look for single infusion mash ?

.5# cara Munich

Looks pretty typical to me. I added a 20 minute hop addition also, but I might regret that later. Mine are bubbling away right now.
