I hope the league gets really upset when the Patriots basically break the Rooney Rule.

They won't give anyone else any legit consideration. Anyone they bring in won't have a shot. It's a farce. When that day comes I hope they can find a way to make an example out of the McDaniels hiring.

Just because the Patriots have minority assistant coaches doesn't mean they're incapable of violating the Rooney Rule, or making a mockery of it.

IMHO, this is setting them up to make a mockery of it when Belicheck leaves.

It'll likely be a couple years before we see it happen, though.
