Snap out of it! Something else eventful must have happened to the Pats in the last 14 months. Like didn't Gronk make some funny tweets recently about how drastically underpaid he is?

After signing Chase Daniel for a lot of money, I thought the Eagles might trade Bradford to Denver.

Maybe that defense could cover up for a broken down Manning, but not even a historic defense will hide Sanchez

That's a helluva leap backward - Fivehead to Buttfumble?

Well, considering how most of Fivehead's regular season went, maybe not all that big a leap. If they can keep the defense mostly intact, they'll still be in good position for Sanchez to do something embarassing in the playoffs.

Mark Sanchez!!!!

Bwaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I'll admit I had exactly this reaction when the Eagles signed Sanchez last year. That said, he's fine for a backup, and he's being paid accordingly, so I get why Elway did it. If things go to hell and the Broncos wind up starting him in September, I'll definitely be concerned. But we're a long way from that yet.

Regardless of what no-name we've got at QB, I do look forward to seeing Miller and Ware knocking Brady on his ass again this fall.

Chiefs were tampering, thus giving their team a competitive advantage and messing with the integrity of the game. The guy that benefits from Maclin the most is Smith. I say ban his ass.

I google Alex Smith Chiefs, look at news and nothing. What the heck are you talking about. Or maybe it's only an article on the Boston Globe

Serious question. Why are the Broncos not going harder after Ryan Fitzpatrick? By a pretty big margin (I think), he's the best veteran QB option. The team's obviously built to compete again next year, if they stay healthy. Fitzy was a superior QB last season to Manning, by a pretty good margin.

I know there's talk about trading for Kaepernick, but he sucks. Even if they traded a sixth-round pick for him, would you trust him to handle the offense?

What are the other options? RGIII? Johnny Football?

I just don't get it. The Broncos lost both their QBs, and the one guy that seems like he could actually get them back deep in the playoffs, they don't seem all that interested in signing. Even if you don't love him as your long-term answer, sign Fitz to get you through 2-3 seasons and draft someone in the second round to develop.

They're going to **** this up and it's going to be awesome.

You just don't get it because you don't know as much as John Elway...believe it or not. He has five playoff starts, will make half the money the Asswilder or Fitzpatrick (who's basically the same player) and they now have a bit of leverage in future negotiations. Obviously.

Sanchez, at just under $5m, is actually less than 1/3 the cost of Osweiler (who incredibly is getting $18m) or Fitpatrick (who incredibly wants $18m). Of course Sanchez is also a worse option than either of them. But he's a reasonable backup, and as you say puts the Broncos in a bit less of a position of panic as they consider Kaep, RGIII, Fitzpatrick, or trading up to get a rookie starting QB in the draft.

I'd still be less than thrilled to have Sanchez start (unless he legitimately earns the spot in training camp against other credible options). But I'm fine with the Broncos paying him $5m for the role he'll likely be playing.

Problem was that bluemoose's original post was a little opaque -- I figured there was chatter about Smith and PEDs or something along those lines. Which would at least have given the Broncos a bit of company in the AFC West QB fiasco department. Oh well!

I would say the NFL should suspend Alex Smith for four games, but the Chiefs probably wouldn't notice. F'n cheaters!

Isn't AZ the Breaking Bad region of the United States? At least walking around shirtless and shoeless out of your gourd is normal down there. Get ready for some competition for your synthetic weed mead AZ_

No doubt there are plenty of technical reasons why Jones is no longer a New England Patriot, but longevity here is not enhanced when you lose your mind in public on Playoff Game Week...

Cheers!

Nobody walks, runs or does anything in AZ shirtless. Maybe for one day if they just relocated but they learn quick.

Goose Gossage on the state of baseball: ‘Do we want a bunch of Cam Newtons running around?’ Lol. Sorry this doesn't validate the insecure Pat fan but it's still funny.
