Uhh...I'm pretty sure consistently losing to Brady year and year out, and watching Pats teams devoid of real talent (Brady and Gronk aside) just rack up wins has imprinted upon us Jets fans the critical importance of good QB play. It's beyond apparent how desperate they have been for it over the years - Brett Favre, over-reaching for Sanchez, trading for Tebow, drafting Geno, signing Vick last season, and now Fitz - you can't win without a good QB. We haven't had one since Pennington and he was middle of the road. We arguably haven't had an above QB since Testaverde.
This is the same problem the Eagles have had since mcnabb. I don't see an answer in the near future because the Eagles will be stuck at 8 or 9 wins each season which will not get you a good enough draft pick to get a franchise QB (typically, unless you hit the powerball in the 6th round), and good QBs are locked up with their current teams so forget free agency.
Then you get stuck watching Kevin kolb, Jeff Garcia, Mike Vick, nick foles, and Sam Bradford.
