Hope Banesong didn't leave the stadium too soon ;)

So it was a solid weekend from where I'm sitting: Cowboys continue to go nowhere; the Raiders beat the Bolts (suhweet! suck another one, Rivers!); Indy yacked up another loss - and to another bad team (who are all those efftards that predicted the Colts were a lock to be in the Superbowl??); and the Texans totally suck.

Not seeing who's gonna stop the Patriots...

Cheers! (Bring on the 'Fins! :ban:)

So I just finished watching the Pats comfortably handle the Jets,

Enough with the revisionist bull **** Pats fans. Going into the 4th Quarter which team had the lead? It sure as **** wasn't the Pats. Stop acting like a Brady 4th Quarter come back win at home is a ****ing dominating performance. You'd be crying into your DDs this morning if Marshall didn't have his typical critical game time brain farts - **** him. Drops the TD and can't get set to end the game. Brady is 38 - you only have a couple more years left of this guy carrying the team.

At least the rematch in December will mean something. The re-match at Foxboro in January will be entertaining.

... or bring back Geno Smith when he's healthy...

Fitzpatrick threw for 295, 2TDs, 0 INts, and a 97.9 QB rating - better numbers that Brady by the way. Typical Pats fan not paying attention to the game. Hurr durr!!

We lost because Brandon Marshall dropped a TD and couldn't get set for one play. We also left Gronk uncovered on the go ahead TD.

Salty much?

Love that you chalk up that loss to one guy dropping one pass.
Take away the eleven drops by the Pats and you'd have already given up and changed channels...

Cheers! ;)

This sucks. The first time in the past five years that the Jets have looked good on both sides of the ball and losing to Brady...it's like nothing we ever do is going to matter until that giant gloating ***** decides to retire.

I told someone in here a few days back that Brandon LaFell sucks. He sucked when he was with the Panthers too. Billy needs to do a better job drafting WRs instead of resting on his waiver wire skillz.

Marshall dropping a wide open TD pass and not getting set on the last play is pretty much the reason we lost the game.

You're a moron.

I like Fitz. I told you at the beginning of the season that he was a 100x better QB that Geno. Yet, the JETS were going into the season with the FAR inferior player entrenched as their #1, until he got cold-cocked over $600.

But you still haven't seen the other side of Fitzy, the side that throws dumb interceptions that got him driven out of Buffalo after a very promising start up there.

So, are the JETS going to give him the job back when he's healthy? I haven't been paying any attention to his recovery, but I thought it was supposed to be 6-8 weeks and I'm pretty sure that all happened 6-8 weeks ago.

It was his first game back, after missing all of camp, so I'm going to give LaFell a pass for this game. He most definitely did not *suck* last year.

And he's what, the fourth receiver, maybe the fifth, in this offense? Who's the fourth receiver for the JETS?

Fitz has been a stabilizing force at a position that the Jets have sucked at since we let Pennington and his stapled together shoulder go to Miami. Bowles said at the time that Geno got punched that if the Jets were 4-2, 5-1, or "competitive" that Fitz would keep the job. Geno, at this point, wouldn't make a net positive at the QB position. If the Jets had tanked (2-4 or worse) then putting Geno back in as the starter would have made sense to see what he could do. As it stands now, Geno won't be with the team next season.

Through six games, Fitz's stats are:

ATT: 210
Comp: 129
YDs: 1,472
Comp %: 61.4
TDs: 11
INT: 7
Rating: 86.1

It's not amazing QB play but half the teams in the NFL would take that in a heart beat. Geno couldn't even come close to those numbers even though he's the superior athlete. If Fitz can avoid his usual implosion then he'll parlay this into a sweet contract extension and the the Jets might have QB stability for a little while. Give Petty a few years to acclimate to the pros and suddenly that's a solid longterm plan at the most critical position on the field. The Jets have a sweet schedule lined up for the rest of the season and should be in contention for a wild card spot.

Yabba yabba yabba... blah blah blah...

Jets still suck

Sucked enough to be leading going into the 4th quarter at Foxboro...yeah, no. Give Brady all the credit for leading another 4th quarter come back but sucking? We've all seen plenty of suck from the Jets against the Pats over the years and yesterday wasn't one of those. Easily one of the best games of the week and held up to the hype.

Yeah, he'll get his groove back no problem. Oh and this just in: Gronk is still a beast.

Seriously, he doesn't even look entirely human when he drags people like that, it's like he's playing with his kid brothers or some ****. It's awesome. Also, I think even he was surprised that he was left wide open like that.

Nope. But it shouldn't have been like that... At all.

Still a lot of football left. Oh, what the heck's up with Houston? I have heard stories about dolphins raping people, but that as something else.

Hey Houston, show me on the doll where the bad flipper touched you.

Maybe the 5th seed in the AFC. Seriously though, the Panthers are not a good football team. They're completely one dimensional and lean too much on Cam.

i like how jets fans have created this fantasy world where wins don't matter.

The Panthers only won because they have a really good qb!!

^^ To be fair, though, how long's it been since the JETS had an above-average quarterback? I mean, Darwin's creaming himself here over Ryan Fitzpatrick and longing for the glory days of Chad Pennington. You can kind of understand how they don't really understand the importance of good QB play. Imagine if they'd spent the last decade watching Brady or Rodgers?

Uhh...I'm pretty sure consistently losing to Brady year and year out, and watching Pats teams devoid of real talent (Brady and Gronk aside) just rack up wins has imprinted upon us Jets fans the critical importance of good QB play. It's beyond apparent how desperate they have been for it over the years - Brett Favre, over-reaching for Sanchez, trading for Tebow, drafting Geno, signing Vick last season, and now Fitz - you can't win without a good QB. We haven't had one since Pennington and he was middle of the road. We arguably haven't had an above QB since Testaverde.
