Still can't say if it was thrown. It looked like a small bit of popcorn that fell from the railing. Could have easily been spilled. SF folks making it sound like he was pelted with a rain of food on his way out. It was a tiny bit of popcorn. I think he was able to handle it.

Definitely not as bad as mcbrewski is making it seem. If it was "thrown" on purpose, it was one moron and not multiple fans.

Oh my god, people turn the littlest things into a huge deal. From the way people were talking about it, it seemed like fans threw hot dogs and nachos at him. A handful of popcorn! Get over it.

Yeah. It does look like one fan. Not what was initially reported.

In general, the fans at the Clink are loud but they're not that kind of fan. If the popcorn was thrown on purpose I'm willing to bet that he heard it from the other fans around him.

A friend of mine who's been a lifetime 49er fan was at the game and the only bad experience he had beyond the usual good-natured back and forth was one drunk hawk fan that ran up to him and yelled "Go HAWKS" in his face. My friend put that guy on his ass, as he deserved.

There's always going to be a few *********, but they're greatly outnumbered and generally controlled by the better fans around them.

You schtick is old. Fade away already. Your team is out.

Not my fault that's who your team is and that they have set themselves up as the villains. It's who they are so don't be surprised when everyone outside the Northwest takes joy in any misfortunes they have.

I thought you didn't like the NFL? A lot of energy is being used on your part for something you don't care about.

I'm certainly not opposed to letting Hoppy dig his own grave.

Hey Hoppy, what part of the "don't post homophobic bull****" mod-instructions were you having trouble with?

Looks like the Pats are continuing their time honored tradition of blaming Wes Welker for their losing in the playoffs....Anyone tell Bill that it doesn't make sense, except in his own mind, to have a 5'9" 185 lb guy take out Talib on a short crossing route, when there's plenty of 6'3'+ 230 lb+ TEs on the Bronco's roster that would be far more capable of doing so? Also, someone should remind Bill that no one executes the pick play better than the Pats themselves....

Well, I don't think there's much doubt that it was a pick play. Just like there isn't much doubt that every team in the league does it. But, net result will probably be that the competition committee looks into this in the offseason, and enforcing the rule becomes a "point of emphasis" next season.

Now, I don't think Welker meant to hurt Talib. I'm not even sure he meant to run into him; really, as a *blocker* you want the CB to have to go around you and lose a half-step. And even if Talib didn't get hurt, I'm not sure we has enough offense, or pressure on Manning, to change the outcome.

This is horsesh*t. How many times have fans of other teams been beaten outside of our stadium by our fans? Zero times. Can you say the same about your team?

When did I say they were violent thugs? I'm saying they're the most obnoxious fans in the NFL and allow what is a minority I'm sure as utterly classless.

So beating people and stabbing people is classy? PKU

No that's horrible and the result of where candlestick is located where it is surrounded by the worst neighborhood in the Bay Area, Hunter's Point. There is violence all throughout that area games or not. During preseason those people can actually afford games and the stadiums didnt have enough security.

Even if thats the case, you cant really call the Hawks the worst fans when yours are clearly worse.
