This man has Scott freakin Tolzein slinging crap all over the field on his sundays but he doesnt act melodramatic about how "footballs changed" and i cant watch this anymore guess i will better myself from all you rubes that still watch this "sport". Dont let the door hit ya on the way out.

I liked football more when there was contact. You like what it is now. That's fine.

you're such a liar. you even said it yourself.

if San Fran was undefeated you would have absolutely zero problems with "how the game is today". absolutely zero.

you are the worst type of fan. excuses for every god damn thing.

"there's no contact in football!!!" give me a f-ing break. take a step back and read that. do you see how unbelievably f-ing stupid it sounds?

hey, remember when Clay Matthews hit Kapernick when he was 1.8" out of bounds? Remember he got the big flag? Remember how that call changed that game?

Don't even try to f-ing tell me that you didn't support that call. Don't even try to tell me you weren't standing in front of your TV, calling Clay a dirty player.

give me a f-ing break.

wait, let me guess. you were standing there saying, "man the refs should let these guys play! they're ruining the game of football!!!"

Actually there were offsetting calls. No impact. Also he was out of bounds. OUT OF BOUNDS.

I never said any of that. I'd still have issues with how the game is played. It that's what you read into it the. That is your problem. Hitting in football is being made illegal, that's a fact.

That hit from clay was a little aggressive but, I liked it!
That was a great hit, you have to hit those running QB out of bounds because you never know when they r gonna make a move to gain more yards. I'm a die hard eagles fan bor and raised on passyunk ave, so I know about hitting the QB out of bounds, late and after the play. VIck

I did too, cant give him the opportunity to cut back and keep the play going. and for the record, that hit on Brees is illegal and he should be fined, you cann't choke slam a QB

He hit his chest and shoulder. And even the whole "neck area" thing has only been illegal for a couple years. Its a BS rule like a lot of the new rules, Trent Dilfer said it well, "the only thing that rule prevents is a cut lip."

I agree and agree

I think by the rule the call is right, that's not the problem. The problem is the rule which is utterly ridiculous. 5 years ago that's a game saving phenomenal football play, now a player is penalized for making a great play and it costs his team the game.

What happened? Why was it illegal? The only part I have seen is the initial contact and his arm was across brees chest but under his neck. Did he make brees catch air or did his arm move up onto his neck? I'm not being a smart ass, I really didn't see it.

Translation of rule is that upper chest collar bone shoulders and such equal "neck area" thus it is illegal.

They also wore leather helmets. Athletes are getting bigger, stronger and faster. If they don't protect players, there will be more brain injuries which in term will make the game a little less fun to play and watch. I understand you want hits which they still can do but they want to protect defenseless players. If you were a qb with your back towards a player like clay, would you want him to pop you in your head or neck? I know I wouldn't.

Brees was facing Brooks and was hit in the chest. That is illegal under the rules. Howie Long after the game, "I'm not sure how you sack the QB anymore, there is no way".

If this isnt the neck area IDK what is. This isnt gonna cause a cut lip, Trent is a *******, this will cause people to be paralyzed or killed

Arm around the shoulders. It used to be a legal hit. It no longer is, further indication that the game is being ruined.

you are in serious denial here. What if that same hit happened to kaepernick and he broke his neck? Youd be all up in arms

You accept certain risks when playing a violent game. You can't prevent all injuries. That's a legal hit 3 years ago.

So because you drive a car which brings certain risks, do you take out the airbags and seat belts because those take some risk away? I would think not

Not really. Airbags and seat belts werent around 50 years ago. If you cant handle change, you wont make it far. The only thing certain in life IS change

Seatbelt and airbags are mandated due to public safety and benefit. The NFL is entertainment. Again it is a violent game, I understand some of the new rules to protect the head, but this is ridiculous. Might as well just not hit the QB at all. The game is not nearly as enjoyable this way.

Let's not lie to ourselves here. The new NFL rules are mandated due to player lawsuits. The league could care less about player safety. It's all about the benjamins.

100% right here. With all the injuries recently, especially the ones causing massive brain damage, they want to save their asses. Look what happened to Junior Seau. If more NFL players started to go crazy like that, we wouldn't have football on Sundays anymore. The NFL would get sued so much they would go bankrupt.
