I want to make one thing clear. My dad was at that game (he's a sissy Packers fan). He had to call me to ask about the play because they wouldn't show the replay in the stadium. So that means Pete DID NOT know if the call was good or bad. So your argument about him celebrating in spite "knowing the Packers got screwed" is just void

Yeah, I'm also a USC fan so I was a big Carroll fan.

But now cause he's a rival coach that goes out the window. But when he was winning championships it was ok. Gotcha

Has nothing to do with being a rival coach. When it turns out your program at USC was paying players, your former players were getting popped for PEDs, and now your new team gets popped for PEDs it raises some serious issues about your ethical make up.

Was your pops on the field watching it get intercepted? Did he have access to coaches in the booth who had the same replays we saw on television?

Oh, so you're saying the coaches in the booth were obviously telling him how bad of a call it was? Seriously, get real... Touchdown Seahawks!

That's 80% of all college and NFL coaches. Have you ever watched sports?

over 11,500 posts....and this is the first "my daddy said so" argument we've come across.

i'm kind of surprised by that, actually.

altho I'm not surprised it came from Hoppy.

and who can forget SB XL...... Phantom Offensive pass interference on Jackson wipes out a TD.. Phantom holding call on Locklear wipes out a Seattle completion to the Pittsburgh 1 yard line, Hasslebeck called for blocking below the waist while tackling the BD who picked him off and a Big Ben TD that was super questionable... i have never seen a replay that shows he got that ball across the goal line. THAT WAS THE SUPERBOWL!

And there was way less crying than this meaningless game in week 3 where a more popular team didn't get the call. It's just a joke..

Just to point out, in week 3 that may have seemed meaningless, but right now that game is affecting the playoff picture for no less than 3 teams. And for crying out loud, for the umpteenth time: it's not that "a more popular team didn't get the call." The freaking refs involved in the call, the day after the game, owed up to the fact that they should have called the offensive PI on Tate on that play - no catch, game over, Packers win, nobody's arguing about some dumb-ass concept of a "simultaneous catch" because Tate happened to have a hand on the ball when the DB clearly caught it. The NFL itself, later that week, even chimed in and said that the "simultaneous catch" call was bogus and that it should've been in interception, but they couldn't step in and reverse the result of the game. And now, playoff seeding is in question. Go Roger Goodell and the replacement refs!

If Carrol had any class whatsoever, he would have walked across the field, shook hands with the opposing coach, walked directly to his team's locker room, and THEN proceeded to party down like an idiot. There's no way he didn't realize what had just been handed to him. But as we all saw, and have seen again since then, he's incapable of doing the classy thing.

Wow...

When moto takes you behind the woodshed and bends you over the stack of wood... it's time to call it an effin' day.

Chalk it up as a loss and live to fight another day. Jeeeeeeesus... it's one thing when Cape does it... hell, that guy is always right.. but when moto gets you. Ouch. It's bed time.

(yeah... fckin' right I went third person)

How did moto hack your account? You never back him up haha

Try to pull your head out of that warm, dark place it's been stuck in, and have a read.

It's all right there, from the teams currently impacted by that dumb-ass outcome, to the officials who owed up to the dumb-ass-ness of said outcome. But I don't actually expect you to believe any of it, because it goes against the grain of your little reality over there.

I guess if you think GB lost only because of that call then all that would be important. Don't be the guy to blame and entire's game outcome on one call. It's childish...

I never said the call was right. I never said it didn't effect teams playoff chances. Like moto, you manifesting an argument that has nothing to do with my points.

Oh man well let's end the season now and declare a mistrial because some 6-6 teams should be in the playoffs and they won't be because the mean old Seahawks bullied their way in.

Please they are the only ones to blame for their poor play that has resulted in a non winning record. You want to make the playoffs....win more games simple.enough don't rely on someone else to determine your outcome.

YES you did! strats posted exactly that, and you said, and i quote:

"wrong"

you should let your daddy post using your account.

Kinda like the New England Patriots. They locked up their division and a playoff spot last weekend... not sure if folks had heard that yet.

Exactly my point.

I'm not going to go back, God only knows how many pages, to dig up the myriad quotes. But every last one of us that was here knows just how BS your bolded claim is - you argued with every last one of us that that was a catch and that the call on the field was right, regardless of the fact that everyone with two brain cells to rub together knew it was ridiculous. Right around the same time you were saying Dick Sherman was a Pro Bowler... :smack:

And while yes, there was a whole game that led up to that call, and Green Bay could have outplayed Seattle earlier (or vice versa) and avoided that situation, yet both teams failed to do so - the situation still remains: one completely botched call gave Seattle a win they did not in fact earn, and now has three teams' playoff seeding thrown out of whack. Maybe in the next four games Green Bay completely tanks and Seattle runs the table, and the picture clears back up. Maybe the reverse is true. But if not, Goodell's little power play with his real Refs will have really backfired in a big way.

No way did I say it was the right call. I never once thought that. I was just enjoying the blatant overreaction by everyone in the world who was saying it was the worst call ever. LOL

Again, not once did I say or think that was the right call....so sorry.

You don't say? ;)

We actually made a family thing of it last weekend to watch the game... Celebrated my mom's birthday by having everyone over the house for homebrew, pretzels, and another dominating Pats win.

EDIT: And Hoppy, looks like I owe you an apology - I looked back over those old posts, and all I could spot was Punity arguing that there was no incontrovertible evidence on replay that the call was bad (maybe he has cataracts???)...
