I can understand why a chargers fan would want the ravens to lose. I would be afraid to play against baltimore in the playoffs too.

So fans of Chargers, Vikes, Saints, Colts...

Who do you want to match up against?

I'll start. As a Vikings fan, my team could face arizona, green bay or dallas.

I want the purple to crush Arizona. I can't stand that "best of the worst" division champion. Plus it would be nice vindication for week 13.

Personally, I'm not afraid of any team in the playoffs this year. Any time my team has been in the post season, there has always been at least one or two teams that I was afraid to face. Not this year. I've never had more confidence in a team than this one.

I want the Patriots to win because that would mean that we can get revenge for 06 and 07.

The only way we would play Baltimore is if they beat the pats and then beat the colts. Which would be nice 'cause that would mean the conference title game would be in SD. But I want to beat the Colts.

Here's my Ideal scene, Pats then Colts Then Saints.
FTW!!!

Didn't the "best of the worst" win all their road games last year and nearly won a superbowl thy were supposed to be blown out in?

Be careful what you wish for, their inconsistent but very dangerous. Just the name Fitzgerald should scare the crap out of any sensible fan.

Just an FYI... remember that almost everytime MN has been in the playoffs, they were best of the worst division.

How many SB's have they won again???

If the Packers and the Cards don't get you, I hope a Cowboy receiver pushes your DB down for a winning touchdown. You've been cursed since '75 and shame on you for getting rid of the Met.

Dome teams suck.

And yea, if the Cards close the roof on another 72F degree day, they suck too.

Theres a big difference in a division where the runner up is a playoff team like the pack or eagles. Although I admit that the niners were competitive for half the year.

Vikings superbowl wins- 0. I just want it to happen at some point in my lifetime!

BTW theres a folding chair from the last game ever at the met sitting in my folks' garage. My brother went and figured, one less thing to implode.

I dunno if their next stadium will be roofed or not, I'm behind on the hometown chatter here in seattle.

As a Colts fan, any win against the Pats is good. However, I'm not losing sleep over any of our playoff games. I might be a little nervous about the Jets.

My guess is that we'll see the Saints or the Vikes in the Superbowl.

They've gotta be the sloppiest conference champion ever.

and weren't 3/8 of those roadgames against crappy seattle, Stl and San Fran? IIRC they were crushed on the road by new england.

I have absolutely NO clue how to read the playoffs. No one scares me but then again, the Pats shouldn't scare anyone else. Colts are a total f'in sham and aren't remotely clsoe to as good as their record and now the "starters" will have played less then 4 quarters of football in a MONTH by their first game next week.

The Saints? Downhill ever since they tossed the perfect game against the Pats.

Ravens?? Pats already beat 'em once and now they're coming to Gillette... in the playoffs? Not scared?

Chargers? blah blah blah... they've been the "hot team" for freakin' ever. I'll believe in them when they actually win something.

Jets? pfft... Bengals? pfft...

BUT... hell, the way the Pats are playing, i would lump them in with all of above.

I think a 14-2 season and some of the highest passing numbers wouldn't indicate a sham. They're going to be well rested. I hope not too well rested, but they've consistently won games. The 10-6 Pats, hoping for a wildcard spot without Welker seem to be in much worse shape this year. I think the sun has set on New England's reign. :ban:

I've been a Colts fan forever, so I feel like a little gloating is well deserved (if not a bit premature). I remember the Jeff George days. :drunk:

I don't really know how to read the Cards either and no one did last year.

They are the only playoff team to not have back-2-back losses.

Do you have Triskaidekaphobia and are blocking out week 13?

The heat's rotting your brain. Don't give up your roots. I yell at my wife every time she cheers for the Pats when they're playing her hometown Bills.

I think a 14-2 season and some of the highest passing numbers

A 14-2 season they had zero business putting up. How many from-behind, won-by-the-skin-of-their-teeth, games did they have?

..."highest passing numbers"?? compared to what? That means one of two things.

Either 1) you can't run the ball (whoooops) or 2) you have such an insane passing attack you make it your bread and butter.

Given the come from behind games, the passing numbers aren't shocking.

And how is the Colts running game?? Let's look really quick.

WHOA!!!!!!! DEAD LAST IN THE ENTIRE NFL!?!?! (whooooooooooops)

And in terms of the passing game being so insane that you make it your bread and butter... pa-lease... you're talkin to someone who watched every game of the '07 Pats.

And Clarnobrewer... I watched the '07 Pats, I had season tickets for the '07 Pats. The '07 Pats were my team... The Colts sir... are no '07 Pats.

I'll admit that we're a little lopsided. But with a guy like Manning in there, we don't need a great running game. And yeah, a lot of 3rd or 4th quarter victories. But that's the Colt's style. They seem to take some time to figure out their opponents and then they take them apart in the end.

To be fair, occasional massive coaching blunders have helped us win a few...:D

Oh bullsh1t. It wasn't a massive coaching blunder (assuming you're talking about 4th and 2). The Pats D has ZERO depth and by the end of that game, the D was sucking wind and the Colts had just marched up and down the field at will for the better part of the quarter.

The Pats offense was moving the ball well for most of the game and all they needed was two yards and the game was over.

Go for two yards with Brady, Moss, Welker, Etc or give the ball back to the Colts offense who just scored three times in a row on you no problem?

He went for it.

If they had gotten six more inches it's "genius"... they didn't so now it's a "massive coaching blunder".

Ridiculous.

Are you sure you're not a Charger fan? Comments like that make you sound like a Charger fan.

Agreed that it wasn't a coaching blunder, but with as piss-poor as the Pats D was playing at that point, hard for me to argue that we really deserved to win that game.

Colts have clearly been one of the best teams this year... but damn, I think their decision to shut down in week 15 (giving them basically a month off between games that count, including the bye week) has the potential to be a coaching blunder of EPIC proportions. Ever notice how sloppy teams tend to look in week 1? Treating games like exhibitions doesn't really get you ready. You REALLY think they're going to be hitting on all cylinders after that much time off?

i want to play!
ummm. american football. uh..go! yeah! tackle that guy and stuff! woohoo! ummm. touchdown! fumble! interception! woo! that one team is really good, and everyone else is bad! hooray!
sorry. i'm not very good at this.

I'm just having a little fun here. I'm a Colts fan and always will be, so I have to take shots at the Pats when I can. I love football and sports in general. I do agree that it seems like a lot of rest for the Colts starters. However, I also agree with Caldwell's decision not to play them too long in Buffalo. Slipping around in all that snow was just asking for an injury. But I do wish they had a little more rhythm coming into the playoffs. We shall see.

I wish I'd thought ahead and brewed a super bowl beer. It'd be great for celebrating or otherwise. I'm gonna do an Imperial IPA tomorrow that's going to be aged in a whiskey barrel. I'm kind of excited about that.

Go Blue!!!

Funny that there's an nfc discussion and an afc discussion!

That's 'cause we AFC guys don't concern ourselves with the JV league. What has the NFC won? Two of the last ten Super Bowls or something?? And one of those was because of the luckiest catch in the history of organized sport.

(remaining very silent, but MAN you won't be able to shut me up if the Bengals win the whole thing.... hell, I'll be super annoying if we even get to the AFC championship game)

Do you wonder what the record would be if they had caught Bellychick cheating before they won a superbowl?

Sweet, the requisite "boo hoo hoo Belichick cheated" post. What the hell took so long?

It never ceases to amaze... "hey, I don't really know what I'm talking about and I can't think of anything else... so... f it, I'll cry and call Belichick a cheater!!! YEAH! That'll show 'em!!" LOL

Next time you should write it as "Belicheat"... it's WAY cooler. People will read and say, "DAMN... THAT guy is witty!"

... and the retaliation post by the Pats fan....

Now we are complete with the exchange.
