i do like Russell Wilson, I had the pleasure of watching him play for Wisconsin for a year. I just dont see him lasting long in the NFL. i think teams are going to figure him out, fast. Kaepernick too. But who am i to say, right?

If they figure out that he passes 70%+ from the pocket congrats you just graduated to making a defense for high school.

Right

He had 94 rushing attempts vs. Marshawns 315. I would hardly call him a pocket passer.

Inflated severely against juggernauts of teams such the the Bills and Cardinals. Dont try and paint the picture that seattle relies on the read option and that's the magic trick that makes Wilson good its piss poor.

Other then the fact that's what he does sure why not lets not call him a pocket passer. I'm sure those are all designed rushing attempts to no scrambling when the pocket collapses which it did quite often.

case in point.... Seattle doesnt run the read option, but Russell Wilson kinda does.

wasnt my point, i told you that i liked him.

I don't think he knows what read option means. The word option means there's at least two players. I know the Muscle is a phenom talent but he cant do a read option by himself.

Kind of like having a phone conversation with yourself ... In your case using a banana

stand in there for the extra second to deliver a pass and take the hit, or run at the first sign of trouble. sounds like an option to me.

Oh really see I was under the impression that you actually knew what a read option was. My bad I didn't realize you were on that level.

Can you kids go to the soccer thread, we have some grown up things to talk about.

Like how the Patriots are waiting for the right moment to strike in free agency. Finding the one last piece that will make them unstoppable in 2013. We're close, I can feel it.

Oh, and how bout them Jets!

Can they just dismantle the jets and start over like not have them play next year and embarrass the rest of the league

Vince Wilfork would like to say "hello" to his new teammates.

Hello, Leon Washington!

Hello, Donald Jones! Welcome to the team!

I take it the Pats aren't bringing back Talib. What's the answer there the draft?

I wouldn't say that. Haven't heard any numbers, but I can't imagine that either Washington or Donald Jones or any of these old guys would cost all that much. They've still got a fair amount of cap space to work with. They may or may not bring back Tailb, but I bet they sign somebody to help in the defensive backfield.

Of course, a huge issue is whether Dennard ends up in prison or not - or for how long. Not sure when his sentencing is. He was also as important to the secondary's improvement as Talib was - both guys entered the starting lineup at around the same time, and the defense was noticeably better.

They're also trying to restructure Brandon Lloyd's deal, which presumably would save a bit of cap space (he's due a $3M roster bonus in a couple days, and right now will have a cap charge of ~$5M for next year).

Really, who freakin cares? You'll walk through a cakewalk division and then lose in the playoffs like always. Your analysis moot.

A surprisingly relevant fact from hoppy.

Well, even a retard gets a happy meal once in awhile....

Pats just resigned Arrington (the bum) to a four year deal, so at least they're doing _something_ with the defense. Starting with the wrong corner, but it's at least a start...

He was pretty good when he only had to cover the slot. Now, he won't be able to keep up with Wes Welker, but it was good to see him resigned... as long as they bring back Talib and Dennard stays out of prison.

Woody's in San Diego, which is good because now I can buy my son a Woodhead jersey for half-price.

Abrahams will be a Patriot before the end of the day

Emmanuel Sanders would be a huge signing, among the guys they're talking to today. It's a question of whether it would be worth giving up a 3rd-round pick (he's a RFA), but he's got the speed where he could potentially be the deep threat they've been looking for. If they signed him, and have Amendola in the slot, and Lloyd (restructured) on the outside, and the tight ends, and Leon Washington out of the backfield.... that's six pretty damn good, diverse weapons.

Really? With Ridley and Vereen, you'd pick out Leon Washington, the return specialist, as one of the damn good diverse weapons to put on the field on offense? Bird, you disappoint me! ;)

Though on that point - the signing of Washington does puzzle me a bit. Isn't that the exact role Demps is supposed to be filling, and for what has to be a far team-friendlier cost (rookie contract)? Makes me wonder if the first season on IR and his choice to return to track in his offseason has the Pats reconsidering their direction with Demps...

Leon Washington....dynamic....Bwahahahahahaha. Oh wow, man that''s good. Keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

Perhaps the 2007 - 2008 version before he fractured his fibula.

He's a 30 year old return specialist who I doubt is going to make it through training camp.

Signing Emmanuel Sanders would be a nice coup for the Pats. Brandon Llyod still hasn't really meshed well with Brady. If you take away Lloyd's 2010 season with the Broncos he is a below average league receiver.

I can't wait to see Dwight Freeney in a Pat's uniform - the rest of the division is shaking in fear....

Just talking about the receivers, although Vereen is in that mold as well.

I'm 100% convinced that half the reason for the pursuit of Washington is that Demps doesn't seem willing to commit 100% to playing football - he still wants to run track competitively. That can't be flying well in Foxboro. He hasn't proven a thing yet, anyway - he would still have been a longshot to make the 53-man roster. I wouldn't read much into his spending his rookie year on the IR; he wasn't ready to play, so once he tweaked his hammy or whatever they threw him on IR and redshirted him.
