Temp while I was steeping was 70ish for 5 min or so, added my extract early before the wort was boiling and i pitched teh yeast too warm. Did i break teh beer?

Actually not overly worried hopefully things work out well and its stuff I to work on for teh next batch.

The only thing that you should concern yourself with at this point is the temp. It's ok to pitch a little high, but what you need to watch out for is the wort getting even hotter during the fermentation process as it generates its own heat.

Get the temp down and don't worry about the rest. Use a Swamp Cooler if needed.

Do you have a large tub that you can place the fermenter into and then fill the tub with some cool water?

its in the sink with a wet tshirt and cold water im in the process of making ice to throw in

i have one of those plastic fish tank thermometers attached to the outside fo my bucket its at 77 right now so its going down slowly. new thing i noticed is the airlocks behaving strangly, if you fill it up to the fill line it'll get sucked into the bucket, could the neg pressure be due to the falling temp?

Yes...

What are you measuring in C or F? In your first post you said you steeped grains at 70, so I figured you were using C, but then later you said you're bucket is at 77. I'm assuming you're fermometer is in F and your thermometer is in C.

yea not overly concerned about that think i was able to get it down fast enough to be a non issue, i know what i need to do differently next time for the cooling issues gonna make a wort cooler for the next batch and have more ice on hand. I started the yeast before pitching it so i know its alive, how long before i can expect airlock activity?

Within 72 hours but pitching at a higher temp with the aid of a starter you should see it a little quicker. I bet by morning you'll see it rocking.

And the list of my mistakes on my first couple of batches were longer than the recipes themselves. Still made good beer and you will too.
