Made this oatmeal stout back in early December. It’s a 3.5 gallon batch.
5lbs MO
12oz roasted barley
1lb 6oz flaked oats
mashed at 154F for 90min.

1.3oz Progress hops for 60min boil
Irish moss at 10min left in boil
Pitched with some S04 and tried as best I could to keep the temp around 65-68F. ABV ended up around 5.3%
Finally sampling it this week after kegging and it is a great everyday stout. Especially after I was getting a little burnt out on sickly sweet imperial milk stouts over the holidays.

Yeah thats pretty much what I was going for. I took a Guinness clone recipe and swapped barley with oats just to see what it would be like. Progress was the only appropriate hop I had on hand, otherwise I would have used something like EKG. I like this one a lot and this may be the recipe that I start brewing over and over to practice my brewing consistency with. Up till now in my brewing experience I have done a new recipe each batch.
