Oatmeal question

Ok, so I made an oatmeal stout. Recipe. During the boil a sort of sludge formed at the top, very dark a very thick. Is that normal? Non of my other brews have had this. Oh yeah, I steeped quick oats for 30 min at 150-160. Thanks for any input

Oats need to be mashed not steeped. Might have some starch causing all that sludge but I could be wrong. Either way you're OK?
