Hey brewers,
So made a 20l/5 gallon tripel. Thinking of oak aging. Now I don't have a barrel so I would need to use chips. Any advice.
Thanks for the help in advance.

This is a pretty popular technique.

A quick search reveals many threads.

At the bottom of a thread, there is a box of related searches as well.

Basically, it is easy, and doesn't take long to get a strong oak flavor. They need to be steamed/boiled/soaked/etc (to sanitize) before going in and you can either throw the liquid in with the cubes/spirals or just the oak itself.

Some people tie the spirals to floss so it can be pulled out, other put cubes in hop bags. Some rack their beer onto oak. There are many different ways to get that oak flavor, but it is easy to over-do it, so be careful. :mug:
