Oak age in primary?

Is it okay to oak age in primary? I have a porter I am adding rye whiskey and 2oz of oak cubes to. I don't plan on letting them sit for more than 2.5 weeks, and I'd rather not rack to secondary if I don't have to.

No need to transfer, add oak and rye whiskey and avoid the work and exposure to oxidation and infection risk if you want to add to primary.
