So, I've been working my way towards all-grain for the last four brews. I'm down to a 3lb bag of DME or less per batch. Beers are tasting great! I'm on a budget, been DIY'ing like crazy. My good buddy has been interested in brewin and helping me out on the last few. I have a Keggle and do full wort boils. We have had to deal w/ the dreaded ice bath method of cooling, using every large pot in the house....until today! I called my buddy to let him know it was another brew day, he said he'd be over after work. He showed up w/ 50' of 1/2" copper, and hose fittings!
What a dude. I guess people do listen when I ramble about upgrades I want to do. We coiled it up around a corney, soldered fittings, and BAM! 15 minutes sweet chiller done. Brewed a Ruby Ale (Raspberry for the ladies) It brought wort down to 75deg in 15 minutes! Time spent making and chilling was less than a normal brew day of ice bathing. Damn life is good when you have great friends to share it w/, good day all.:rockin:
