This is Butch, our 12lbs. Brindle Chihuahua

I'm going to do a test when I get home.

I'm placing 2-1 odds that when my daughter sees this pic, she'll exclaim "KITTIE!" :D

Are the heelers ankle nipppers? If they are like the lancashire heelers they will be. Great little dogfs full of bravado.

Nope, australian blue heeler, AKA australian cattle dog.

The last was Sitka, an Alaskan Malemute named after the island, recently passed to dog heaven, lived to be 19 people years old, travelled to 20 states and 2 continents. Her partner in Alaska was and is Wyona, a aussie shepard mix, who I think still misses her, and the newest is Pixie, a shep/lab mix who is still learning not to chew my damn slippers. Throw in a couple cats and some boys and you have a barnyard.

It's not a great picture, it was taken through a window screen, but on the left is Spices, a German Shepherd/Husky mix. We didn't name her, she came with the name when we got her, she was already two. Mostly we call her Fat Puppy.
The Husky on the Right is Nanook, we rescued him from the pound. SWMBO named him after the dog in The Lost Boys. We call him Gay Dog, he prances and enjoys wearing purple feather boas (not that there's anything wrong with that). Sadly the boa pictures were pre-digital.

Ah Wolf I gotta say, that's my departed Malemute Sitka. Man, I miss her

I've had a lot of dogs, first was a Dachshund named Fritz when I was a little girl and now we've a tri-colour Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Brenhines Afiona WinBear. Yeah... ACK name - Welsh for Queen Eve WinBear. She's just plain Avi or Roo or Doodle though. And she's absolutely fantastic with the kids.

Her arch-nemesis is a cat named Tiger (Ti) that we got from someone ill.literate works with that couldn't keep him anymore. He's bigger than Avi and chases her around when he's feeling sassy.

I like big dogs, my dad raised German Shepards and I've also had a Malamute (M'Loot) whom I lost in the divorce.

When Avi's gone, we're getting a Boxer, though I'd love a Great Dane.

I gotta get a better picture with his eyes, he has the one brown, one blue/grey thing going on.
19 years? Wow, thats a lot of good years with her! I'm sure you must really miss her now.
It's been 13 years since I've had to part with my first dog, who I basically had all through childhood.
It's going to be harder on my wife, she's never had 'real' pets before, but she teared up whenever one of her firebelly toads died. The dogs are going to be really tough on her.
Hopefully that won't be for a long while.

We've got a blue heeler named Chaos. Only dog I ever met with extreme OCD. She keeps our horses in line.
Also have a Labrador Terrier named Callie. She's the sweet one. Her only job is to move sticks around our yard in random patterns and eat things you think a dog wouldn't possibly eat.

Here is Floyd, as in Pink Floyd. Also known as Hurricane Floyd. He's crazy but we love him!

LOL!! I had a friend with a cute lil beagle named Floyd. Back some years ago when Hurricane Floyd wrecked devestation on the coast, I found a headline from a newspaper that said "Millions Flee in Fear of Floyd!". I cut it out and framed it along with a picture of him looking all alert in that beagle way they have. It was hilarious.

My current dawg is a pound pup (all 105lbs of him...geez!) who came with the name of Goodman. It works for him.

When I was very little, we had a beagle named Sloopy, which is also a pretty good name, I think for a basset, too. :)

Currently not a dog owner but my kids want one. My four year old says that she will scoop the poop, feed it, etc... Can't pass that up, right?

Scooping is by far my least favorite thing about dogs.

I have a female black Lab named Emma and a male cat named Yusef. For the first time in a very long time I have only one cat and one dog. I'm in pet owner Nirvana. SWMBO keeps talking about getting another dog and anytime she sees either a puppy or a kitten I have to drag her away before she adopts it on the spot!

Oh, and I usually have a whole lot of chickens and turkeys in the summer, but I call them supper!

our doggy's name is Nola, for new orleans louisiana, where we got married.

she's part husky and part other stuff, from the local shelter. almost 2 years old.

Here is my crew:

Bukka Red (8yo Red Heeler)- BUkka is named after the blues singer Bukka White. He had an embolism in his spine 3 years ago and is gimped up now. He is my bet bud and partner in crime and he loves Killians Red (red dog likes red beer)
P1010024.jpg

Willow (2.5 yo Red Heeler/Border Collie cross)- smartest little s#$% of the bunch. Notices every little thing. She knows that door knobs open doors, and tries to manipulate them with her paws.
IM000366.jpg

Wren (2 yo Border Collie)- The sensitive one. She does not like hearing me cuss. She knows when something is bothering me before I do.
P1010023.jpg

Not sure when this started, but SWMBO and I call all dogs, "Puppy". I think it's fairly common. Might be another thing to hate about us colonists.;)

Right now I've got a 4 year old shelty that was the runt of the litter, so she's a little smaller than normal. She's by far the best dog I've ever had though. Love her to death.
If/when I ever get another dog, I've always thought wolves are one of the coolest animals. Actually having one would be different I think though. My neighbor used to have one before he moved to Illinois, where you can't and said it was the most obeying and loyal "dog" he ever had. But they are expensive.
