I try to figure out the pitching rate for my beer (1.057 OG). I used this calculator.
As per Danstar, the Nottingham yeast contains only 5 billion cells / gram. I was under the impression that it will be 200 billion cells / 11 gram bag but this gives me only 55 billion / 11 grams.
As per the calculation, I need to pitch 200 billion cells. That would mean 4 bags!! What do I not get here? I don’t want to pitch 4 bags and I was advised not doing starters with dry yeast.
