So I brewed a batch of da yooper's pale ale and a bell's 2 hearted clone, Saturday and Sunday. I used nottingham for yooper's and the 05 for the bells. Yooper's was Saturday and og was 1.057. Bells was Sunday and og was 1.061. Obviously the nottingham showed signs first and produced a nice crousen and this was followed by the 05. The 05 is still chugging along whereas the crousen on the nottingham has fallen and I am seeing limited airlock activity. Is this normal for them to be so different?

Here is a pic of the two taken tues at 7:30 pm. Nottingham is on the left.

My opinion, Nottingham is scary fast, almost explosive. I have had more blow out with Nottingham than with any other yeast. You need good head space. Good Luck.

I brewed a batch on Sunday and used some washed Nottingham. It looked almost done on Wednesday :cross:
