Hey all. I started homebrewing about 11 years ago with the typical extract kits. Took a long break from it for various reasons. Met some new friends who happened to mention homebrewing at a get together so I said, hey I can do that. I've been making some all grain brews with them now for almost a year. Anyway, I've been a longtime lurker and finally decided to join.

Good to see another Virginian. This forum has been a real blessing to me because of the ideas, advice, and encouragement I get here. I consult the recipe database before I plan a brew. And about a year ago, I got in on a bulk grain buy--big money saver.

Its two of my neighbors in the cul de sac and I that do the brewing. We have woods behind the houses and have been thinking about getting a silo for our bull grain buy lol. I think the homeowners association may object.

Lorton right here!
I brew at a buddies place in Springfield, but always looking to help other people out.
Wife hasn't given me the blessing to brew at home yet, but I'm working on it.
Cash is going towards our new home anyways.

Looks like VA is represente pretty good on here. Anyone belong to any clubs? Never thought about it much , but it would be interesting to get feedback on what we're brewing.

Welcome! I've attended a couple of DCHomebrewers meetings and they were/are a good time. I wasn't able to make it to the last meeting (last Thursday) but I mean people generally bring whatever they're brewing. I've had everything from a pink peppercorn IPA to a brown ale to a coffee stout. You should try and make it out to one!
