Noob Alert!

Hail all! I've been threatening the wife for a few years to get into brewing, but never made the jump. She forced my hand Father's Day and got me a Mr. Beer. My BIL has been brewing for a while, and has turned out some amazing things, so I finally started mine up the other night.

(I figured if it comes out bad I can always blame the equipment )

This should just be a stepping stone to much better equipment before Christmas. It seems that every question I've googled about brewing, this site is usually the first to pop-up with an answer, so I figured I may as well join you and soak up the hops laced knowledge pouring out of here!

I'm in Texas, mid 40s, and love to cook. And drink beer. And Scotch.

It came with the American Light. Simple and easy, and hard to screw up I hope. It's bubbly and foaming so it looks like it will at least be alcoholic.

Me too, haha! My year one goal is a cream ale copy of Crow Peak Brewing's Canyon Cream Ale for her. It's the only craft beer she's ever liked.

Then she has a reason to keep me brewing!
