So I forgot to get a new grain bag for my specialty grains and LHBS is closed until TUESDAY. Any household items I can use to replace it?

steep the grains w/o bag and then strain em out before the boil...

If using pantyhose make sure to get all the dye out before using.

Go to Lowes. Paint department. 5-gallon nylon paint strainer bags for like $3.00.

I use them as hop bags and as wort filters.

Muncher, that is truly worth a medal in the Ghetto Fabulous olympics!

Speaking of hop bags and grain bags.. I use both and have always washed by hand.. is this how everyone does it?

OK I'll try that - washing by hand never really does it.

A pair of SWMBO's knee-highs worked great for me on Sunday. I'd prefer the grain bag, but apparently threw away my last one after the last batch.

(Yes, she GAVE them to me. I'm not brave enough to appropriate a pair)
