I just bottled my first batch of beer 2 days ago. Everything has gone just as planned except I got excited and chilled one bottle and opened it after 2 days in bottle and find no carbonation. Am I jumping the gun or do I wait it out, or can I still save the rest by opening the others and adding carb tabs. pls help!!!!!

Welcome to HBT!

Don't do anything. You jumped the gun by about 20 days. It generally takes about 3 weeks at 70° to fully carbonate beer.

OK that makes me feel better. The instructions said 2 wks fermenter and 1 wk secondary and 1 wk in bottles then chill and enjoy. So I should wait even longer than the 7 days I originally thought.

Yes I used the priming sugar. Hot water and dissolved it then siphoned into pale to bottle, capped all and put away in closet.

Yeah seriously, let it alone. The soonest you will find any notable carbonation is in a week. At least two before it's about where you're going to want it.

just don't forget about ABV and carbing. The higher the alcohol, the longer to carb. I had a 9 percent beer take 6 months to carb. and this should all be at 70 degrees, or close. If it's 40 degrees where your bottles are attempting to carb, forget it. There's more to carbing beer than just priming sugar.
