I saw a book called "Why the leafs suck and what to do about it". 40% off at superstore. I should have bought it for the laughs.

Canucks won last night but barely. I think they need to acquire a big center that can be a force in front of the net. That was one good thing Sundin could still do. What they really need is a young Sundin. lol.

They also need a defencemen that puts the fear of God in players yet can do his job and score from the point. Pansy ass Betman kinda canned the role of fear of God player. He should go manage dog shows or something.

Canucks and Leafs Saturday night should be a good one...for the canucks anyway...

I think it was less close than the score indicated.
VAN outshot CHI (who is near top of league in shot differential), and also had some excellent PKs. I'm pretty sure there were nearly two whole powerplays where CHI didn't even get a shot on goal. No one on CHI tough enough to punch Mitchell's face in after that hit on Toews (even though it was clean).

Have fun tuning up the Leafs Saturday although I will laugh my ass of if Leafs win.

If the leafs win I'll, er..... nah.. it ain't gonna happen.

I took the overs on the 'Nucks this season, but man, it may have been a bad call. Missing a Sedin and a Demitria doesn't help. The Leafs might show up for this game just because it's against another Canadian team.

I still say Ron Wilson is one of the better coaches in the league.

Well, Red Wings fans showed their class by yelling during the national anthem.

Darn, they didn't have much to cheer about after the one goal they scored...

Avs 3 Red Wings 1! :mug:

Damn! King lays a beating on Barch and ends up breaking his hand.
I'm a big fan of DJ, too bad he has such crappy luck.

Been lurking around the brew forums for a bit reading up, but when I saw this thread I had to post. Obviously a Nucklehead from the location, I'm glad to see our boys starting to turn it around, despite all the injuries. Especially glad that Bobby Lou remembered how to play goal.

To the guys wondering about the 'Don Cherry night', it was in the OHL. I saw a link to it on the NHL or Hockey News website I think, or you could just Google it. (I was going to post a bunch on Grapes' comments from last night, but I'm half-cut on my roommate's homebrew wine and this is my first post, so I'll leave that to another day).

ANYWAYS, the main reason I'm posting is a joke I heard (it was from the Canucks.com message board, but I swear the only reason I went there is because I'm out of work and had extra time on my hands. Swear.) And I skimmed through the pages of this thread and didn't see it here so...

What's the difference between the Maple Leafs and a triangle ?

A triangle has 3 points.

Cheers Arto, use that joke as much as you can before it becomes irrelevant. Then you'll have to go back to all the other Leaf jokes.

But seriously, just as with beer, with hockey I'm patient so I'm trying to reserve too much judgement until at least a little but later in the season.

I know my basic membership limits me, but just imagine my sig with me wearing my Willie Mitchell 3rd jersey (like them BC boys, 'specially the d-men, and not a fan of the whale jerseys).

Also (not biased against non-BC boys) check out "Alex Burrows Facts" on Facebook. Something my brother started but I think we've got some good stuff there. Well, good for a laugh. Cheers, eh.

Hopefully it will become irrelevant sooner than later....lol

Then again after their first win, you could always say, What do the leafs and a triangle have in common? They still only have three points.

About friggin time....now if they played 70 more games against the ducks, with GS Gigueire on the injured list, the Leaf Nation would be a happy place.

Maybe the confidence of a win will make them win a few!

Yay! Wings came from down 2-0 and won 5-4! They way they have been giving up on leads this season had me convinced they were done by the end of the first.
