Thinking the safe bet for this season would be (insert team here) over TOR. I'm thinking you'd be right more than 50% of the time, if not more.

Thinking Ron Wilson should be polishing up his resume.

Ron Wilson is a great coach. I think SJ screwed up by canning him. The issue was egos in the locker room, not the coach. What happened the next season? First round exit?

They added another potential head case with Heatley. However, demoting Marleau and appointing Blake as captain was a step in the right direction.

As for the Leafs, you've got a tough row to hoe as a fan. It's gonna be a coupla seasons before they can be competitive.

Detroit's problem was not really the goaltending. The rest of the team stunk pretty bad. The puck was bouncing around like crazy and the players were all over the place. No form, no control, no idea what was going on. The defense and offense were both horrible all night long. It's a good one for Babcock to use as a screaming session for the young guys.

I didn't find out who won the Avs game. They were up 2-0 when I last checked the scores.

Speaking of Conklin, I saw him blank the Ducks tonight in Anaheim.


We were sitting second row in a corner. I invited him over for post-game homebrew as he skated past the boards during a time out.

Ok....II am back...I said I wouldn't post in this thread anymore until the leafs won, but my god, they get a week off??? What the hell??? That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

Then again it isn't like they were on a roll or anything and were gonna lose the fire...maybe it will help them. Couldn't hurt.
