So the other day I decided that I wanted a refractometer, and picked up a 0-40 Brix unit from the bay. Shipped from Hong Kong, and arrived nicely packed and looks great.

Tried it out without calibrating with distilled water and its seems to be working great. Love the ability to be able to take super quick gravity readings with it, and it looks like its reading right around the same as my hydrometer.

I'd highly recommend easylife products! Im am not affiliated in any way with them, just happy with the purchase.

The price was great, and it reads from 0-40 Brix, as opposed to the average of 0-32.

They have quite a selection. What was the title of the one you got and how much did you pay? This has been on my wish list for a while.

40 Brix would be around 1.140 SG. You measuring maple syrup too? :)

I love my hydrometer, it's saved me a few times when I got surprisingly good efficiencies when I changed my mash process. Took the reading and was able to adjust my hop schedule to keep IBU/SG balance.

I made a mead the other day with OG of about 1.140. :mug:
