Hey Everyone, very excited to have found this forum. I am five days into fermentation of my first batch-o-beer...an IPA. The instructions on the Brewers Best kit says to let it ferment for 3-7 days. Based on postings I've stumbled upon here, it seems like the general consesus is to ferment at least 7 days if not more. SHould I go longer on my IPA?

Look forward to reviewing the wealth of information here and really looking forward to tasting the first batch!

Your hydrometer is really the best way to determine when it is done. The "general" rule is 1 week in the primary, 2 weeks in the secondary, 3 weeks in the bottle/keg.

If you are only using a primary, Id say 2 weeks in the primary, 3 weeks in the bottle... but, who am I? Nice to meet you, I am THE POL, welcome.
