Another newbie question from a newcomer: if I buy a 11g package of Nottinghams but say only want to use half of it, is it possible to store it? If yes, how (glass container in fridge perhaps?) and for how long?

Thanks a bunch! :mug:

I've managed to keep mine in the fridge for a month or so without any apparent ill effects. I bend the opened end over on the package and seal it shut with tape.

Maybe it's just me, but for the buck or two it costs for yeast, I just toss it unless I plan to use it almost immediately. I'd rather spend another few bucks to be sure I've got good yeast.

Dry yeast is pretty tolerant of being saved for later use after opening. I do the same with tape and fold and then I toss it in a ziplock inthe freezer. Works fine for me. I have considered getting the new ziplock vacuum seal bags though.
