Hi All,

I'm new when it comes to beer brewing and i am not sure if there are other members here ask same question as mine. How are we going to prevent beer infection during the process of brewing any tips or do's and don't for this?

Thank you very much and happy brewing everyone.

cheers

Clean everything. If you think it's clean, clean it a little more and rinse well. Use a good sanitizer (StarSan or Iodophor work great) Put vodka, everclear, or starsan in your airlock. Also, lacto and some other bugs hate hops so, don't go too light in the hops (Unless you want that style)

^^ My 2 cents worth

BGHSmt7: thanks for the tip.. I will take your advice... but the problem here in the Philippines we have a limited resources specially in beer brewing.. :( Star San is not available here is PH for the Iodophor we call it betadine (if I am correct :d). Lacto is not also available so you have to be more resourceful and needs a lot of research to look for an alternative solution in beer brewing.

Basically everything he said. Clean, sanitize, try to keep brewing area clean. I try not to open the bucket, whatever i'm brewing in just to reduce the risk. Make sure your gears always dry when put away. Biggest thing for me was to just be sure anything that touched the wort once chilled was sanitized.

PBW and Starsan. Clean everything. Sanitize anything that comes into contact with the wort after the boil. Don't mess with the wort once it's in the fermenter. Pretty simple, just have to take the time to do it.

I googled it and it pointed back to HBT that people are having success using betadine as a sanitizer. I personally have used B-brite as a not great sanitizer as well as starsan (great) and sani clean (good). No personal experience with betadine, but if that is all that is available to you, I say give it a try.

Plain non-scented bleach has worked for me thus far! Just rinse everything twice as much as you normally would.

Yes, ill give it a shot will try to use betadine as my sanitizer there are alot of sanitizing solution that most brewers can use but for us the best solution that i can use is betadine...
