Hi all.... I'm new to home brewing and so far have found these forums very helpful. I just ordered everything I should need to get started including a couple corny kegs. Along with the gear, I ordered two boxed recipe kits. I figured they'd be a fairly fool proof entrance into this exciting new hobby. My neighbor up north owns his own licensed nano-brewery and I'll be picking his brain a lot, but he brews with all grains. I'm nowhere near ready for that and will be playing around with extracts for a while. I liken brewing to cooking... Start with a few simple ingredients and learn your base. Then play around with the fancy stuff and learn how each ingredient impacts your overall end product. Ultimately my goal is to keep fresh beer on tap in my homemade dual tapper system and have lots of fun along the way.

Having said that, can anyone suggest a very simple ale or lager I can make with extracts, either LME or DME? Again, just looking for a good starter beer to use as a base. Eventually I'll do the same in a few other styles such as wheat and stout.

Thanks,
JP

What 2 boxed kits did you order? I would think that those would be simple enough:) If you order from a site like midwest, you can see the instructions for the process before you even buy the kit. Just get what you like to drink:) Cheers!
