Hi from New Zealand. I'm a newbie, but already learned a lot from reading this forum. I have a Grainfather G30 including conical fermenter. 1st brew was a failure 
but without going into any detail I know why. Second brew, a simpler extract recipe is in the fermenter and I have just learned through this forum that I can't use refractometer to monitor SG without allowing for the alcohol... Huh who knew? Think I'll get myself a hydrometer. Looking forward to diving a bit deeper into the threads of this form to learn some more. Cheers
