Hey all -

I'm typically one that learns best from doing.

I'm three batches deep into this hobby, I drank the first two batches pretty quickly but saved a 6pack of each to drink over the months to see how they age.

This is my 1st brew at 2 months after bottling, talk about a difference. Way smoother and a lot more tasty than the beers I sucked down back in May.

A lesson in patience for sure :)

Brew on !

A lesson it took me a while to learn. Been brewing for three and a half years and only started saving some to age a few months ago. Obviously some beers neither need nor should be aged. But a RIS I brewed a couple months ago is being aged right now. I'll probably crack it when it's a year old.

I'm fairly patient, but I still usually crack one open before it hits three weeks in the bottle.

I've found that by having plenty of homebrew on hand, I can rotate what I'm drinking frequently enough to let the newer batches age. The lesson - brew more beer!
