Well, I am just getting started homebrewing and thought I would keep it simple. So, I bought my "Ale Pail" and an easyMunton's brew kit. Unfortunately, I added my yeast too soon. I missed the part about letting the mix cool to 65-70 F. Oh well, will give it another shot this weekend! This looks like a great place for info. I look forward to learning and eventually contributing.

No, I haven't dumped. I was thinking of adding more yeast. I bought a hydrometer and took a reading just out of curiosity. Now I know I should have done this before adding yeast the first time. Anyway, the reading is 1.03.

This batch has been sitting in the primary fermenter since last Sat, 10/13 with temps ranging from 70 to 75 F. Is it save to try and salvage?

Definitely try to save it. Pitch another packet of yeast since chances are you killed the yeast when you pitched too hot. Also try to get your temps down to the 65-70 range, a wet towel around the fermenter should do the drink.
