Hi All,
I got a home brewing kit for Christmas, and finally got around to trying to cook my first batch this past week. All I made was a mess. The instructions that came with the kit were poor, and I ended up pitching it down the crapper. The problem was making the wort with the dry barley included in the kit. I use a wheelchair, and trying to hump the one-gallon pot around was a pain. Siphoning off the liquid wort was impossible, too--the blasted barley plugged up the racking cane! I have been exploring recipes online, and I think I am going to pick up some liquid malt extract and trying that instead. Any and all suggestions will be welcome!
Finding craft beer in this neighborhood is hard, and I am tired of buying oats for the Budweiser Clydesdales!
Thanks--
Tim
