What's up ya'll? I'm super new to home brewning, actually brewing the first batch Friday 5/23. Just wanted to introduce myself. If any of you guys are in in B/CS area hit me up. I'm sure brewing with folks is better then going it alone. I'm new to the area so I know basically nobody here in town.

I'm also new! Hope to learn and contribute with you guys. Cheers from Brasil.

Welcome fellow Texan.

One very important thing to know about brewing in TX is that it's to friggin hot here most times of the year to ferment decent beers without some kind of temperature control.

At the very least, get a big plastic tub, fill it half with water, put the fermenter in there and periodically swap out some frozen water bottles to keep it in the middle 60's for most ales. If you happen to have a spare fridge or freezer, you can easily transform it into a fermenter chamber with an STC-1000 controller outlet box.

I will be brewing my first batch of beer Friday as well!!:) I'm going to go with a brewers best extract kit from my local home brew store for my first one.

I plan on fermenting in the kegerator I'm picking up tomorrow. Bought an STC thermo and everything. Congrats to all the newbies in this thread! Lets share our beers when we're done.
