Any good suggestions on reading material? After a few brews IM going to try extracting my own sugars....... tips or suggestions are welcomed

The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian is where I started 3 years ago. The book may seem dated, but trust me that the information contained within is not. Lots of good recipes, many of which I still make (Whitey's gone fishin' PA was my first 5 gal batch and my favorite to this day, LOL Still chasing that initial high!). There are many tips also that will have you sighing in relief on brew day instead of running around like a chicken with your head cut off.
Many times you can find a hand-me-down of this book, but I chose to support the cause by buying it, plus it really does pay for itself when your not pouring batches down the drain.
Whatever you choose, good luck, cause this is one hobby a beer drinker can find hard to put down!

(SWMBO thought it would be cute to get me a Mr. Beer kit for christmas once, now 3 keegles, 1 kegerator, 1 controlled freezer/fermentor, 6 kegs, and a brewstand in the works later, and numerous other parts, she is not laughing anymore.):cross:

Brewing Classic Styles is filled with great recipes and brief brewing info. Plenty of on line sites to get the raw brewing info. I like How To Brew - John Palmer. Don't much care for Joy of Homebrewing.

What kind of sugars are you extracting? You likely just need a hydrometer and a pot/bucket
