hey guys, my names Ray. I'm 22 years old and live about 20 minutes south of Boston,MA. Ive always enjoyed drinking a good craft beer, mainly ipas, while most of my buddies were pounding away at budweisers:confused: anyways im new to brewing and although ive done quite a bit of research i havent gotten around to picking up my first kit yet. i have a local supplier about 10 minutes down the road from me and i plan on picking up a kit as soon as next week:ban: ive picked up some very valuable information from this site and i cant wait to start boiling my first batch of homemade beer. :mug:

very cool. closest ive seen to me so far on here is a couple guys from connecticut. my main hobby was off roading with my jeep, but after getting married this past weekend and the ever increasing prices of craft beer around here, i think im going to be spending quite a bit of time on this site. i havent even started my first batch and im already addicted to the forum.

Welcome! I'm a mass guy as well out here in Noho. If your into IPA's make sure you try the conitnuous hop schedule. Hop editions everye 10 minutes. That will give you some great IPA's/. Also if your looking for free brew software to build your brews check out www.hopville.com to get started. Lots of helpful people on here. Enjoy.

Welcome. I'm out of Worcester. Whats the store you are using? Is it the Modern Homebrew Emporium in Cambridge?

If so, the guys there are great, I actually work at their other store out in West Boylston, Ma. Feel free to swing by and chat sometime. Happy brewing.

Also, if you are 20 miles south of Boston, you're probably near Weymouth. We are opening up a new store there in about a month, where Keeler Leather used to be. May end up being convenient for you!

58 Randolph Street South Weymouth.....That's where it will be in about a month

awesome, thanks for the warm welcomes. the supplier near me is called the hoppy brewer. i havent been in there yet but ive given them a call just to get a general idea of what they carried as far as kits and ingredients and they carry everything. cant wait to get started. im going in tomorrow to price out a kit that ill probably pick up next week. :ban:

Hello everyone! I'm from Mass as well and live in Springfield. Been on the site for a little while and there is a ton of information on here.

@ Hopcousin I see your from Northampton, do you go to Beer and Wine Making Supplies often? I was just in there yesterday picking up a new kit I may brew up today. Its the closest shop to Springfield that is open consistently. I always get good help in there and the selection is pretty good too.

I keep hearing there is a shop in Ludlow but its never open when I drive by so I've never been in there.

I have also made the trip down to Maltose Express in Monroe CT and found them to be very helpful with tons of supplies. Thats a little far for you EyePeeAy but I found it to be worth the trip!

Happy to see fellow Mass people on here, welcome to the site and enjoy!

Oh, there's a ton of folks out in the South Shore area, not too far from you. Paulthenurse, Cape Brewing, Yeager, Melana and BigJohn, there's at ton of cool folks. I usually make the drive out a couple times a year to make and drink beer.

Welcome aboard!

She's an Almost In College grad? Congrats. ;)

Springfield College grad here. Marlboro native, lost in CT.

Welcome. :mug:

lol, yeah she graduated from american international college a couple years ago. im surprised theres so many local guys on here. but then again, who doesnt love beer?:tank:

Since everyone on this thread seems to be from Mass, are any of you heading out to the Blues and Brews Festival in August up at Nashoba Valley? Besides the festival there's also a homebrew comp. anybody submitting?

And another welcome from Boston. and +1 on the Homebrew Emporium in Cambridge. Closest LHBS to me so its a no brainer, but all good guys in there. I'll be there this afternoon.
