Hello! I found my way here via Google. I posted a few times without introduction, as I was waiting for a brew to start before getting planted.
So far I've brewed a 1 gallon batch summer wheat (it was pretty bad)
I made a bunch of improvements to my equipment and technique. Then I made a 5 gal batch of White Rascal Clone (Little Bastard) which is presently in secondary. Based on initial tastes, it should be much better. As of my last taste, it was a bit boozy, but I think some time in secondary will improve that. At least I hope that's the case.
I made some more improvements. I switched from a SS wire tube to a SS false bottom. I added a steam infusion system into a 10g Igloo cooler. I'll post later how I achieved this.
Just brewed today. I have a 5.5 gal batch of Pink Elephant (Delirium Tremens clone) fermenting. I changed the recipe a bit to match the hops I have laying around and renamed it Shaky Hands. So far so good, except I managed to knock the dip tube off while stirring. Never fear, I used a set of latex gloves, encased in a set of larger latex gloves, to reach into the 172f tank and re-affix the tube. I definitely wound up with a lot of debris in brew pot, but I think it will still work out.
