I want to use the cutout from the keg lid to reuse it as a fermentor lid. There have been countless designs out there, but none that I've come across that I really want.
I want yo use toggle clamps welded to the top of the keg to apply pressure on the lid for a tight seal. To do this, I need the lid to rest on something obviously. Since the hole will be the same diameter (i don't have a bigger donor lid), I need to add some sort of shelf to the inside of the keg hole.

I can do this via either washers welded on (which will be a major pain if not be impossible) or a ribbon of stainless about an inch or so deep. I like the ribbon idea but can sheet stainless be flexible enough to take a long strip and weld it into a circle?

your best and easiest bet is to cut 2 kegs. Cut a larger hole in the one and voila, you have the lid for the other. You also have a spare BOP

Like I said I only have one keg. I already have a BK and that lid is long gone
