Hello all, I just picked up home brewing and actually have just put my first brew to bed for a week or so to ferment. Hopefully, it'll work out and I'll have a nice Belgian style wheat beer ready. The first actual brew was a bit overwhelming trying to learn the whole process, but I didn't have a boil over!

However, the malt extract was a pita. The guy in the brew shop warned me about getting steam in the bag, but he didn't warn me about the instant brick-ification that takes place when you pour it into the wort. YIKES. No amount of reading prepared me for that little jewel. Oh well...its in the bucket and tucked away nicely in the coldest room in my house.

I look forward to reading about your experiences and brew ideas. Bottoms up!
