Hi All,

As with a lot of people i'm sure, I received a home brewing kit for christmas! something I have always wanted to do but never found the time.

The kit I received had "brewmaker cider de luxe" cider kit in.

I LOVE cider but I like it Dry and not too sweet. I am wondering if this is based on the cider I received or if there is someway I can achieve this? by not adding as much brewing sugar for example.

Thanks for any help!

You're in luck! Cider is usually very dry after fermentation. Most of the difficult parts of making cider involve sweetening it. If you like it dry, it'll be really easy to make. Welcome to the hobby!

Dry cider is much easier to get than sweetened, so you're definitely good there. I don't know this kit specifically, but the yeast should dry out your cider no problem. :mug:

Getting the cider to ferment to dryness is the easy part if you have the right juice and yeast. Getting the cider flavor you are looking for is not so easy. The process of fermenting to dryness can also leave a cider with little flavor. But the best thing is that you are getting started. The choices of juice, yeast, fermenting temperature and many other variables can come later on. Good Luck!
