What's going on fellow brewers!

My wife just got me a Mr. Beer brewing kit for my birthday a few weeks ago. I got my first batch done and carbonated and I thought to myself... this can't be it can it!? So i got online and started researching and low and behold, I was right. I appreciate my wife's attempt to get my into a new hobby because I LOVE BEER (mainly crafts, and micro brews) but I want to do more, wait no, I HAVE TO DO MORE! So here is my question, where do I begin?

I have checked out Northern Brewer and Austin Home Brew, and I feel a little overwhelmed. I need a step 1 and then I know I can go on from there. I need a begginers brew kit but something I can craft my own from, not just poor a malted syrupy mix into a plastic barrel and hope for something mediocre. Please help a new and upcoming brewer!

Thanks!!!!

Welcome. Any of the 5 gallon beginner kits from the on line guys will suit you fine. Buy yourself an extract beer and get started. You'll be surprised in the quality difference between these and Mr. Beer kits. Many of us move on after the beginner kits to all grain. I've been all grain for years and I rarely go to the liquor store. Well....maybe for research. :mug: But again....welcome!!!

Sounds good. I'll definietly check it them out. Thanks for the link Cyclman, I'm making my second batch this morning and I have some hops I want to add to their Winter Dark Ale, see if I can doctor it up a little bit to my own taste.

Cheers!
