I live in Dayton and as of yet I have not brewed anything. I have spent the past two years reading alot about brewing and trying to understand as much as possible before diving in head first. I have now come to the point and time where I need to start brewing in order to learn more and get a better understanding of what I have been reading. Besides, I learn more from doing something than from reading about doing something. I look forward to reading the discussions here and hope to one day soon be able describe my first batch of home brewed beer to all of you.

BTW, buy an account, its just $15 bucks for a year. I would encourage you to, lots of "extras" when you do so!

Could be a big surprise around the corner!

Welcome again,
Copper :fro:

Mike,

I live in Tipp, out close to the airport. We're pretty close. Turk doesn't sound far off either. Thought I'd mention it to you, since we're all new here it looks like.

Boston Bistro, is that the place down on 48? My grandparents live down in Clayton next to a guy that owns Bistro out that way.

Do you ever shop at the Miami Valley Spirits in tipp?

yeah, i get up to miami valley spirits every couple weeks, they have a nice walk-in beer cooler, full of microbrew.
my uncle dan mcmillon lives on fredrick ginghamsburg out your way, and my buddy chris clausen lives out ther too.
talk to you later.

I live in Dayton itself and I will be attending my first Dayton Regional Amateur Fermentation Technologists (DRAFT) meeting the second Friday of the month. I found them online. They are a local group of homebrewers that get together and taste brews and twice a year have competitions.

My myspace account is http://www.myspace.com/stay_down

Boston's used to be in downtown and I visited it often but since it has moved I have yet to head out there.

Mustang, where did you get your kit from? Do you have plans to eventually brew all grain?

Yeah, someone told me they call that cooler the "beer cave". It's great, I need one just like it at home. Though he needs to hang coats at the door to it, cuz I browse around in there for a few minutes, freezing most the time. He keeps a pretty good selection.

Turk, I'm suprised to hear anything like that is in Dayton. We're notorious for being... crappy? Maybe not the right word, but generally nothing good happens in Dayton. lol.

Welcome all from the Dayton area. I'm living in Columbus and getting ready to do my 4th batch on Sunday.

This is a great forum. They can help out tremendously and if you get bored, there's always people to BS with.

Enjoy!
